Asian EMERGENCE will use a variety of methods to carry out its research and disseminate the results to stakeholders.

Scoping the existing evidence

In order to establish the context for the research and ensure the relevance of the research instruments, an extensive review of the existing evidence is being carried out, the results of which will be made available by the end of 2002 in a series of focused national reports, giving an overview of the background to eWork introduction in each of the Asian countries under study.

Case studies

At the core of the project lie fifty case studies of eWork relocation: more.

Workshops and conference

Asian EMERGENCE works in close collaboration with stakeholders, including representatives from the European Commission and other international organisations, national governments, major companies involved in the supply of hardware, software and telecommunications, NGOs, trade unions and the academic research community. Representatives from some of these groups are represented on the Asian EMERGENCE steering group, which will meet in December 2002 in Bangkok and in March 2003 in Bangalore. Steering group members also play a valuable role in offering informal guidance and feedback on work in progress between meetings.

In addition, Asian EMERGENCE is co-ordinating a stream at the International Conference on Gloablization, Innovation and Human Resource Development for Competitive Advantage, in Bangkok from 17 to 19 December 2002.
