Brussels Hosts EMERGENCE Conference

Following the success of last year’s conference in Budapest, the next EMERGENCE conference will be held in Brussels on April 16 to 17, 2002. The European Trade Union Confederation have donated the use of their conference facilities in Boulevard Roi Albert II to host the conference, which will focus on the impact of information society technologies on globalisation, the workplace and working conditions.

Entitled, ‘WWWe - The World, the Workplace, and We the Workers’ the conference has already attracted the support and sponsorship of the European Centre and the Belgian Telework Association. HIVA, the Leuven-based Hoger Instituut voor de Arbeid, the Belgian EMERGENCE partners, are taking the lead in organising the conference, together with the Catholic University of Leuven, in Belgium.
