Practising What we Preach

EMERGENCE doesn’t just study eWork, we also practise it. When she isn’t on the move, checking her emails on a Nokia communicator, Ursula Huws, the project director, works from her home office in London, holding team meetings with colleagues at IES’s Brighton office by videoconference.

In August 2001 the project took another step towards virtuality when project officer Hilary Williams, previously based at the Brighton office, moved to Jordan with her family when her diplomat husband was posted to the British Embassy there.

Hilary Williams: off to the warmer climes of Jordan

‘I now work to the sound of the Muezzin, looking out over a beautiful mosque with a glorious blue dome the other side of the wadi’, says Hilary.
