Drawing on the results of workpackages 1 and 2, the project will carry out a critical analysis of the existing economic and social statistics, at national, EU and international levels, which are relevant for monitoring the development of new forms of work within the information society. It will examine which of these indicators are the most important in their present form and which could benefit from adaptation to suit the new circumstances. It will also identify gaps in the existing data and investigate new indicators which might usefully be developed.

At the conclusion of this exercise, the information will be used as a basis for making concrete recommendations to Eurostat; to national statistics offices in the EU, and to other data collection agencies at international, national and regional levels.
