The eWork relocation process, Stage 2: Primary objective

An understanding of the objectives of eWork relocation can help you develop appropriately targeted strategies for making your region an attractive location.

The primary objectives driving the relocation of eWork, ie the decision-making factors used to determine where eWork is to be relocated, tend to be two main types:

2a) the regional (or locational) characteristics
of both source and destination regions. These are often described as so-called regional ‘push’ factors (ie away from source regions) and regional ‘pull’ factors (ie towards destination regions)

2b) company characteristics
either of own company/group or of other company/group in the case of outsourcing or partnership. Here, it is the characteristics of the company, rather than the region in which it happens to be located, which is more important.
