Sales, including telemarketing and mobile sales

The reasons cited for outsourcing telesales work are topped equally by ‘good reputation’ and ‘longstanding relationship’, followed by ‘technical expertise’, with proximity to customers and to other parts of the organisation in equal third place (Huws, O’Regan, 2001).

It is notable that that suppliers are most likely to be convinced that they won their contracts because of their high reputation and longstanding relationships with their clients. Responses from the demand side suggest that other factors are also important.
