Main European Commission sourcesThe IRISI (Interregional Information Society Inititaive) and its follow-up, RISI (Regional Information Society Initiatives) financed a number of projects under Article 10 of the ERDF which provide a rich source of experience on local and regional information society projects: http://europa.eu.int/ISPO/risi/main.html. LEADER II is the main European programme supporting all aspects of rural development, including information society issues; for example you can download the document Information Technologies and Rural Development (Observatory dossier no. 4-2000).
